Eco Friendly Acer Notebooks Are Launched
Acer, the Taiwanese computer manufacturing company, has launched two eco-friendly notebooks, namely the Aspire 3811TZ and Aspire 3811TZG. The notebooks are part of Acer’s Timeline range and are said to be are virtually free of PVCs and BFRs (brominated flame retardants). The specifications include ultra-low-voltage Intel processors, up to 4GB of RAM, an option for ATI graphics and a 13.3in, 1,366×768 resolution display.
Other notable green credentials include and longer life battery, providing up to 8 hours of use, in turn using fewer power charges complete with a new modular design structure designed to aid it’s eco friendliness with recycling in the future.
Acer were quoted in a company statement as saying “The chemical characteristics of PVC and BFRs may generate toxic substances like dioxins and furans at products’ end-of-life, therefore, the reduction of PVC and BFRs in Acer products will help protect our environment from being poisoned by electronics goods,”
