@ Hablerz No, no, pipes, water flow and gravity. When I say, I mean really off grid off grid. But I agree with you. I’ll try one of these compost toilets. That is why I despise those videos just too much for my beautiful wife. She lived alone systems are growing up. Going back is not her favorite subject being that we live in So Cal now and it has grown accustomed to most modern comforts, that I think can be a thing of the past one day.

What can you use instead of sawdust? What if there is no sawdust in your area?
By hablerz, June 26, 2010 @ 8:39 pm
@ WurledPeas Point taken regarding use of electric, but what is to be used with water? because when you run water in your house to the sewer system then use still uses electricity. Basically, in favor of composting toilets and septic systems located. It is not efficient, water for human consumption waste, it takes too much energy to clean and take care of it to be sustainable, plus it lands in the sea.
By WurledPeas, June 26, 2010 @ 8:40 pm
@ Hablerz It would be news to my septic tank, they will need power. It is not like an electric line within three miles. It is 17 years old and a family of three were with that all the time. There is never a cookie jar somewhere in the vicinity. In fact, you can not get a truck near there for the same reason there is no electricity.

is that Jimmy Falon?
By budgielover9, June 26, 2010 @ 9:02 pm
Lol How about with sick time, all the sides?
By hablerz, June 26, 2010 @ 9:03 pm
Septic Tanks @ Zomgwtfbbqbagel cost more initially, need more infrastructure and a waste box, and even with water and electricity. Then you have to pay for the waste to be trucked away, or for the system have to be maintained for a few years, how do you use sagst.Ein compost toilet no energy and no water to most parts of the world no longer afford to use water to transport human waste.
By hablerz, June 26, 2010 @ 9:16 pm
@ Personalities9 the moment human waste at sea, polluting, and is used in the food system anyway if you do not eat seafood washed. If human waste is in mud on the water works, it is mixed with chemical waste, which in some cases back to the fields and share-at least thus contaminating the field. The end product of human waste as shown here, is nothing more than the earth, having been passed from worms, beetles and bacteria, etc.

@ FishyMoe The ClearVue Cyclones website is a good start. Click on “General Information” from the menu and then click on “wood dust” for a good summary of many of the wood dust hazards. Otherwise, a simple Google search for “wood dust lung cancer” or any variation. Then “google Broccoli lung cancer” for fun.
By FishyMoe, June 27, 2010 @ 1:24 am
@ Miraclesthepony Do you have any links to these studies? What is a dust? (As the particle size?) What trees are safe?
By miraclesthepony, June 27, 2010 @ 2:12 am
@ Nomoreremakes Thank you for reminding me! I almost forgot to take it back!
By miraclesthepony, June 27, 2010 @ 3:11 am
@ FishyMoe Nope, is good old oak one of the perpetrators. Also many others. Some studies show combining smoking with wood dust exposure, have a synergistic effect on lung cancer.
By zomgwtfbbqbagel, June 27, 2010 @ 4:08 am
A septic tank is basically a 600 times larger version of this toilet. Trucks, which clean your system, the waste from septic on farms and compost sites. Loveable Loos are irrelevant.
By birdland5, June 27, 2010 @ 4:34 am
@ Miraclesthepony There is no dust, if you follow Joe’s instructions. With green sawdust. Better yet, READ THE BOOOOOK ….
By sclisrael, June 27, 2010 @ 4:47 am
I was at a festival in Israel, where a branch of sawdust. Amazing! Clean, smells, no, no flies. Literally hundreds of people with the dignity branch-like to make this one-

If it is so easy to make your own composting toilet, why the people they sell online for as much damn money? Are the current selling prices for these things are ridiculous. It’s like they do not want people to compost or something.
By SaltSeahorse, June 27, 2010 @ 8:07 am
Do you have the Humanure Handbook? Joseph Jenkins. It is a good read and covers all relevant areas necessary to the human compost. They recommend the chips from the lumber yard, so have untreated wood chips instead of the woodwork, is about the end you kann.Sind dissatisfied with wood chips I guarantee that you will be able to “waste” product, with the manure, optimized the carbon dioxide / nitrogen mixture and serve as a cover material mix. Good luck!

Absolutely! : O) Surfers Against Sewage would most likely return the favor Loveable Loo as organic waste on the right and proper place, where it can do a god instead of going flotsam of the most heinous nature, surfers and marine life alike haunt!

Dude, seriously … read a book. The real green movement is not about buying $ 40 organic cotton T-shirts, on his reinstatement, not materialistic and save money.
By bluehoneycomb, June 27, 2010 @ 3:47 pm
You are acting like a child, says: “They just want to control me, I can eat junk food / smoke cigarettes / drugs when I want, na na na na nana” Yes, you are free to do what the hell are you is, as immature but! Regardless of what people want rich or big corporations, it is always a good idea to save money (for your own benefit), and aware about the environment (again, our own benefit). You do not have to be an Einstein to know this. alright?
By sixminutestyle, June 27, 2010 @ 3:55 pm
Great idea. Thank you for sharing!
By CompletelySora, June 27, 2010 @ 4:38 pm
I love it! Absolutely beautiful job. Although I was a bit surprised that you ever “Tide” in this video, as the makers of Tide laundry detergent are not sure of animal, which certainly says something about their ethics. All in all, well done.
By sixminutestyle, June 27, 2010 @ 5:35 pm
Thanks for the comment. The goal was to keep anyone in his place, but to save money steps to explore boast green benefits. Most cost nothing: Unplug your appliances when not in use, with a rake, not a leaf blower, get a home energy audit, you dry your clothes back-to-back. Replace regular light bulbs with compact FL. Bulbs saves money over the Zeit. Was me to a rich upper-class idiots – While some agree with the referral idiot, I can assure you, I’m not rich.
By tomme1981, June 27, 2010 @ 6:14 pm
Why are all the green eco warriors, sermon, as they all live our lives upper middle class, wealthy idiots? People like me do not always have the financial means to live green and I feel the green movement is just another tool of rich people used to tell me in my place, so | can not enjoy the same things they do regularly
By bluehoneycomb, June 27, 2010 @ 6:53 pm
I used kebab skewer and put it in a toothbrush holder. You save about $ 20 for the plastic bag dryer.
